JOSÉ MANUEL ALARCÓN
I graduated in Physics on 2006 at the University of Murcia (Spain), and received my PhD on 2012 at the same university. My doctoral thesis focus on the applicability of relativistic effective field theories with baryons to study important properties of the nucleons. This work was awarded with the PhD Prize by the Nuclear Division of the European Physical Society in 2015. After two postdocs in Germany and one in the USA, I received the “Atracción de Talento Investigador” fellowship from the Community of Madrid (Spain), where I started to apply effective field theories at finite density to study properties of matter needed in searches of new physics. Currently I'm associate professor at the University of Alcalá, where I continue my research on particle and nuclear physics using effective field theories.
